DeValera Library celebrates Harry Potter Book Night 2015

February 5th 2015 saw the first ever Harry Potter Book Night celebrated throughout the world and at deValera Public Library, Ennis, the fun began early that day when 5th class from Scoil Chriost Rí took part in the very first Harry Potter Quiz to celebrate the occasion. Quizmaster and Ennis Library’s very own Severus Snape along with Madame Trelawney with a little help from Professor McGonagall, welcomed the school children and their teachers to the event designed to promote and re-kindle interest in J.K. Rowling’s wonderful books. It is eighteen years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone captured the imaginations of children and adults for the first time. The Sorting Hat divided the children of fifth class into the four Hogwarts house teams Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw and the quiz was closely contested by all four groups. The winning team left with book token prizes, each child was presented with a Harry Potter themed certificate and a selection of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans! chocolate mice and jelly snakes compliments of Clare County Library. The prize for the best dressed Muggle went to class teacher Mr. Crehan!
