Vote for your favourite Irish books

The shortlists for the 12 awards in the 2012 Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards were announced on October 25th. The very best books published in Ireland across a vast range of genres in 2012 form the shortlists.

The categories are
The John Murray Show Listeners’ Choice
The Eason Popular Fiction Book of the Year
The Ireland AM Crime Fiction Book of the Year
The Sunday Independent Newcomer of the Year
The Eason Novel of the Year
The Specsavers Children’s Book of the Year - Senior
The Specsavers Children’s Book of the Year – Junior
The International Education Services Best Irish-Published Book of the Year
The Argosy Nonfiction Book of the Year
The Lifestyle Sports Sports Book of the Year
The Avonmore Cookbook of the year
The Bord Gáis Energy Bookshop of the Year

Winners in each category will be decided by your votes. The public are asked to vote for their favourite books on irishbookawards.ie and be in with a chance of winning €50 of National Book Tokens. Pick up a booklet giving further details about the shortlisted books at your local library and you can watch the award ceremony on RTE One on Saturday 24th November.
